After losing the young generation to touch screen phones, Blackberry asked gyro to help win them back. The BlackBerry Rio (later renamed BlackBerry Leap) was designed to bring about the resurgence of the Blackberry brand. It needed to target young entrepreneurs and millennials looking to make their mark in the startup world.
